Renewal of crane girder

In December of 2015, DSD Montagetechnik GmbH was assigned the task of delivering, disassembling and assembling 13 crane girders for the slab adjustment installation at Dillinger Hütte, Germany:

• Manufacturing, delivery and assembly of 13 crane girders including secondary beams with crane rails
• Disassembly of existing girders and rails

The 13 crane girders weigh approx. 410 metric tons and were shipped by the company Plauen Stahl Technologie.

As a multi-shift operation, disassembly and assembly were performed over a period of 17 days during ongoing production. In order to prevent impairements and downtime, the coordination between assembly and production needet to be strictly monitored.

One of the essential criteria as to why DSD Montage GmbH was assigned this task was the fact that they have years of experience in assembly works in metallurgical plants and during ongoing production.
