Free-field photovoltaic installation

In 2012, PVA Diefflen GmbH & Co. KG mounted a free-field photovoltaic installation on the grounds of a former sand and gravel pit in Dillingen/Diefflen, Germany.

Following two construction phases, the installation now covers 5.7 hectares. About 9,000 units generate a nominal output of approx. 3MWp.

The installation yields approx. 2 million kWh per year, which equals to an energy consumption of almost 720 households. The direct supply of sunlight reduces CO2 by approx. 1.5 million kg per year.
