Privacy policy

We, the DSD Steel Group GmbH, Henry-Ford-Straße 110, 66740 Saarlouis (“DSD”), are happy that you have visited our website and that you are interested in our company. The protection of your personal data is very important to us. Personal data are individual statements about the personal or objective traits of a specific or specifiable person (§3 para. 1 BDSG). This includes such information as legal name, address, telephone number, and date of birth.

Because these data enjoy special protection, we only retrieve and utilise them to the extent that is technically required. To this end the recording and usage of information complies with the respective legislation, namely the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Teleservices Act (TMG). As stipulated therein, we will explain to you the type, extent, usage, and processing of your personal data that was recorded during your visit to our website.

DSD is obligated to maintain indefinite confidentiality and data protection when working with personal data retrieved during the usage of this DSD website. We adhere to all current, respective legislation when retrieving and/or processing such personal data. Please note that our website contains links to other providers’ websites. These providers are not bound by our privacy policy and data security guidelines.

Usage of personal data

We solely use your personal data for the provision of our website, as well as for other purposes that are explained below, or for purposes for which you grant us your explicit consent. Conveyance to third parties only occurs within the scope described. Personal data are only conveyed to governmental bodies or authorities in accordance with the respective legislation.

Usage and/or processing of your personal data in countries outside of the EU and the EEA only occurs if we explicitly declare such usage and/or processing.

You can use our services anonymously or via usage of a pseudonym. Only specific, exceptional cases, such as when filling out a form, constitute personal usage.

If you use our contact form, we use your e-mail address and the data that you have entered into the contact form to contact you and to answer the inquiry that you have sent us. We do not save the data conveyed by you for this communication.

We retrieve, process, and anonymise your IP address with which you access our website so that we may communicate with you.

When visiting our website, access information (date, time, page viewed) is stored on the server. These data do not constitute personal data, but rather they are anonymised. They are solely used for statistical purposes. There is no conveyance to third parties for either commercial or non-commercial purposes.
We explicitly note that that transmission of data through the internet (e.g. when communicating via e-mail) is vulnerable to security gaps, and cannot be completely protected from third-party access.

The usage of the contact data provided on our website - especially telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses - for commercial purposes is prohibited unless we have provided our explicit, written consent in advance or there is already such contact in place for business purposes. DSD and all individuals named on this website hereby refuse any commercial usage and conveyance of their data.

Given the debate regarding the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()", and therefore IP addresses are only used in a truncated version in order to prevent direct personal association.
